A Message from Dave
Dear Friends:
After careful consideration with friends and family, I have decided to withdraw from the race for Wisconsin's 2nd Congressional District.
Since I announced my bid for Congress last September, we have seen tremendous progress and support. However, after careful consideration, I believe the time is not right for my candidacy.
I want to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged me. Whether you donated to my campaign, collected nominating petitions on rainy Saturdays at the Farmers Markets or gave me words of encouragement along the way, I want to say thanks.
While I will not continue my campaign for Congress, I know we already made an impact on the race. When I announced objectives like my refusal of PAC donations or initiating a clean campaign pledge, we saw the other candidates respond. We must make government work for the people and not special interests. These objectives are only the first step to reverse Citizen’s United and remove the influence of outside money and negative campaigning in American politics.
Lastly, I urge the remaining candidates in this race to run a clean, positive campaign. While this seat is likely to remain in Democratic hands, it is important to stay unified leading into November so we can work together in electing Tammy Baldwin to the US Senate and re-electing President Obama. Although I will not be running for office, I will do my part to ensure Democratic victories this fall.
Again, thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Best wishes,
Dave Worzala
